How to add Paypal donate button to blog

paypal donate buttonThis tutorial will provide step by step instructions to set up a PayPal donate button and add it to your Blogger/blogspot blog. The button is free and once added you will  be able to accept donations to your Paypal account. It accepts funds from other Paypal accounts, credit cards or debit cards.

 

Step 1: Create PayPal donation button

  1. Login to your PayPal account.
  2. Click Merchant Services tab to go to Merchant Tools page.
  3. Scroll down to PayPal Website Payments Standard section and click Donations link on the right to open donation button set up page.

  4. You will be taken to Step 1: Choose a button type and enter your payment details.
    You will see many input fields, dropdown lists and radio buttons in this step. Just ignore them.
  5. Click Customize text or appearance link if you want to customize the button.

  6. The customize menu lets you to choose smaller button size, remove credit card logo, specify language and even use your own button image.
  7. Skip Step 2 and Step 3.
  8. Click the Create Button button at the bottom of the page when you are done with the configuration.
  9. You will be provided with the HTML code for the button you created. Click Select Code button to highlight, then copy the code.

Step 2: Adding button to your blog

  1. Login to your Blogger account and go to Design > Page Elements.
  2. Click Add A Gadget and select HTML/Javascript .
  3. Enter the title of your widget.
  4. Paste the Paypal button code inside the content box.
  5. Click Save, then view your blog.

hi, in my paypal account doesn't appear Merchant Services tab. do you have any idea about that?

i can't get it to work. when i go to DESIGN>add a gadget there is no option for HTML/JAVAscript. there is an option for "add your own url" but not html. what am i doing wrong?

You have to scroll down the Add A Gadget pop to be able to see the HTML/Javascript gadget. It the 7th from top.

I can not find the option HTML/JAVAScript until a scroll down it is not there.
Blogger Help says (Note Gadgets should be placed in some public site)

We got ours up and running at www.nighttimebrothers.blogspot.com and created our own illustration for it. We have also used it as a signature for all our posts.

Thanks for showing how you can add a donate button. Not every one knows how to do this and it's a good thing people are willing to share information.

The new blogger template Dynamic Views looks fantastic, but doesn't have gadgets and page elements. I wonder if Blogger will be all to add those functions to the new templates?
