How to import a blog into Facebook

Here’s a tutorial that will show you how to import you blog posts into Facebook, using Facebook Notes application.  It will eliminate the need for you to manually share posts on Facebook.

Notes can be added to both your profile and fan page. It will use your blog feed to automatically update your latest posts onto the Wall. Follow these simple steps and you will see your blog posts in Facebook in no time.

  1. Login to Facebook and go to your target page -profile or fan page.
    facebook wall
  2. Click the + tab and choose Notes from the dropdown list. A Notes tab will be added alongside the existing (Wall, Info, Photos) tabs.
  3. Click + Write A Note button on top right hand corner.
    facebook write a note button
  4. Write a test note and click Save Draft. (You can delete this later).
  5. Once saved, you can see a Notes Settings box on the left side. Click on Import A Blog.
    facebook notes import blog link
  6. Enter your blog post feed URL in the Web URL text box. A blogspot posts feed URL looks like so:
    http://blogname.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default.
    notes import blog feed url
  7. Tick the checkbox to agree to Term of Use and click Start Importing button.
  8. You be shown a preview of the import. Click Confirm Import to complete the importing process.
    confirm blog import
  9. That’s it! Your blog posts will now appear on the Wall and in Notes tab. Facebook will automatically detect new posts and updates Notes and the Wall accordingly.
  10. Enjoy!

Update Aug 2010: To import multiple blogs or to import to a Facebook group, use NetworkedBlogs. See Importing blogs to Facebook via NetworkedBlogs.

its really helpful thing, actually i was trying to find the solution of the.
1.tell he how to delete it so that i stop importing them to my Facebook account.
2. how many posts does facebook allows to import.
(i over-read once, that facebook only permits a limited number of posts, if posted more than that- account will be deactivated).
please tell me the full information about that.

@spk
1. To stop importing, go to http://www.facebook.com/notes.php > Edit Import Settings > Stop Importing
2. I have no idea there is such a limit.

@spk
1. It's on the right of the screen, similar to the image in step 5, but with "Edit Import Settings" link.
2. To import more than one blogs, use Networked Blogs app.

You're not alone, many users are having the same problem.
I've heard importing your blog via Networked Blogs solves the problem.

hi! thanks for this article!
Is there anyway for a link to my original blog entry to automatically be included, say, under the title of the note that has been imported?
Thank you for your help!

Greenlava August 4, 2010 at 10:30 PM

@greg
I don't think Facebook has any provision for that.

@Gearmaster
Facebook does that to you sometimes :(.
Why don't you try Importing blogs to Facebook using NetworkedBlogs. It's slightly more dificult to setup, but well worth it.

I have completed the import my blog to my notes and it says it is importing from the feed/url. However I blog everyday 1 new post each day in my blog yet it isn't posting to my facebook page each day why? I have to stop importing then put the feed back in and click start importing again, confirm etc.....each and every day!

@2 Vintage Mamas
I've had the same problem, that's why I switched to NetworkedBlogs.
